Velva child dies in Lake Audubon incident

GARRISON – A 5-year-old Velva child lost his life in an accidental drowning at Lake Audubon on Sunday, July 26, according to the McLean County Sheriff’s Office. Grayson Olson was playing on the shore with a young sibling when he entered deeper water and became submerged. Immediate efforts by the mother and accompanying adult to recover the child were unsuccessful, the sheriff’s office reported.
