A Minot man was arrested Thursday, Sept. 10, after crashing into a building in east Minot, according to the Minot Police Department.
The driver Michael Boger, 35, was charged with driving under the influence.
At about 10:09 p.m., the Minot Police and the Minot Fire Departments were dispatched to the 1800 block of East Burdick Expressway for reports of a vehicle that had driven into the building. Crews arrived on scene and discovered a Chevrolet Tahoe in the shared laundry room portion of the building. The structure sustained major damage; however, no individuals were injured, police reported. Building residents were not displaced.
According to North Dakota Vision Zero, alcohol was involved in 23% of traffic deaths in North Dakota in 2024. While this incident did not result in injuries, impaired driving can have serious consequences for drivers, passengers, and everyone else on the road, Minot Police noted.
The department reminds residents not to drink and drive. Plan, designate a sober driver, call a friend or use a ride service. A few minutes of planning can prevent a crash and potentially save a life.
