Investigation continues into fair stabbing incident

A suspect has been located in connection with a stabbing incident at the North Dakota State Fair on Saturday, July 25, according to the Ward County Sheriff’s Department. The department reported no arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is continuing. The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. near the Flickertail on the fairgrounds. The individual stabbed was transported to receive medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff's department initially had sought the suspect, who had left the fairgrounds after the incident.

Mobile home fire displaces resident

One person was displaced in a mobile home fire in Holiday Village on Monday, July 27, according to the Minot Rural Fire Department. The department was called shortly after 11 a.m. for a report of a house on fire. Firefighters en route called Minot, Burlington and Surrey departments for assistance after assessing the amount of smoke viewed to be coming from the fire. Smoke surrounded the structure, with fire on the northeast corner. Firefighters brought the fire under control within a half hour and a search found the building empty. A pedestrian was struck when two-vehicles crashed at the intersection of 11th Avenue Southwest and First Street Southwest Monday, July 27. According to the Minot Police Department, at about 5:14 p.m., patrol officers responded to the crash at the intersection. The preliminary investigation determined the driver of a 2016 Toyota Highlander was exiting a bank parking lot and failed to yield to a 2023 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on 11th Avenue Southwest.
