Sentencing follows plea in stabbing case
An attempted murder charge was dismissed, but a five-year sentence for aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon was imposed Monday, Aug. 3, against a man charged in connection with a stabbing at a South Broadway restaurant last September, according to North Central District Court records. Isac Chavez-Zapata entered a guilty plea on Monday before District Judge Richard Hagar. His sentence includes a two-year mandatory minimum. He will receive credit for 307 days served.
