Council renews Beulah CVB gaming sites

A Beulah organization whose gaming operations have come under investigation by the North Dakota Attorney General has renewed its Minot gaming sites. The Minot City Council voted Monday, July 6, to approve Beulah Convention and Visitors Bureau’s site authorizations for Comfort Suites and Uncle Maddio’s, with the stipulation that authorization will be canceled should the state later revoke the organization’s gaming license. The Ward County Commission approved Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s wind farm repowering project on Tuesday, July 7. Basin Electric proposed repowering the 80 turbines that are part of the PrairieWinds 1 and Minot Wind projects south of Minot. Repowering includes installing new larger blades, a new hub gearbox, main shaft, a generator refurbishment and upgrades to the electrical controls, according to Basin Electric information. BISMARCK – Gov. Kelly Armstrong has submitted a request for a presidential major disaster declaration for severe storms that occurred June 7-9, causing damage estimated at more than $4.6 million. WILLISTON – North Dakota State University’s Williston Research Extension Center will hold its annual field day on July 10.
