Agreement reached in felony theft case

Court records show an agreement has been reached in the felony theft case involving Dallas Rice and a local archery club. Rice was charged in March in North Central District Court with one count of theft over $50,000 and one count of conspiracy to commit theft in excess of $50,000, both Class A felonies. According to the court affidavit, Souris Valley Bowmen board members discovered a large sum of money missing while investigating a bounced check in July 2025. Not guilty plea entered in embezzling case

A Minot man charged with embezzling more than $1.5 million from the Minot branch of a trucking company has pleaded not guilty in North Central District Court on Thursday, May 21. Patrick. O. McCarty, 49, Minot, was arrested on May 20 for theft by deception-over $50,000, a Class A felony. In entering a not guilty plea dated July 27, a preliminary hearing set for July 30 was canceled as the case proceeds toward a trial.
