The annual Parkinson's Symposium in Minot will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Sleep Inn.
"Together, We Thrive" is the theme of this year's educational event, which will explore ongoing research, treatments, therapies, nutrition and resources available as they relate to cognition, motor skills, speech and more.
Speakers are Sharon Krischer, a Parkinson's advocate and creator of "Twitchy Woman"; Dr. Kerry Petsinger, a physical therapist and motivational speaker, creator of "Mornings that Matter"; and Dr. Megan Dooley, occupational therapist, certified brain injury specialist and certified Living in Place professional.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Registration for participants and caregivers is free. Registration is $50 for those seeking continuing education credits.
