DCB announces 2026 award recipients

BOTTINEAU - Dakota College at Bottineau will recognize three alumni and community award recipients at its awards banquet Saturday, Oct. 10.

The Young Alumnus Award recipient is Adyson Jelleberg. The award honors an alumnus who attended DCB within the last 15 years and has shown success, growth and promise in their chosen career while contributing in a beneficial way to community and/or society in general. Jelleberg exemplifies each of these qualities through her dedication to education, leadership and service.

A 2022 graduate of DCB, Jelleberg was an inaugural member of the LadyJacks hockey team for two seasons and participated in numerous student activities during her time on campus. Her enthusiasm, teamwork and academic excellence made her a standout student and a valued member of the DCB community.

The Golden Service Award recipient, Mack Dewitt, was selected for his remarkable career achievement. The award is given annually to a former DCB student who is at or approaching traditional retirement age and has had a successful career or exceptional achievement that benefited their community or society.

Dewitt went on to attain a double major in education and math/science composite from the University of Mary and a master's in science education from North Dakota State University. His passion for teaching and coaching over the years has allowed him to achieve the goal of helping students and athletes excel and plan for their futures.

The Friend of Dakota College at Bottineau Award is presented annually to an individual who, though not necessarily an alumnus, has demonstrated exceptional support for DCB through time, resources and service that make a lasting impact on the college and community. This year’s recipient, Brent Moum, embodies this spirit through his dedication to DCB and his leadership within the Bottineau community.

The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. in the DCB gymnasium (Woodshed), followed by the meal and program at 6 p.m. Tickets are available by contacting Kendra in the DCB Foundation office.
