Head Start to hold coat drive

Head start will be holding a coat drive, though coats are not the only needed donations. Donations will be accepted Sept 1-30, and the drop off location is Qdoba at 1700 S. Broadway, Minot. This will be the first year in many years that Head Start has held a coat drive. The greatest needs are snow pants sizes 2T-⅞, snow boots sizes toddler 5-13 and youth 1-5, coats sizes 3T-⅞ and warm cold-rated gloves. Two face charges in museum thefts

WASHBURN – Two Washburn residents have been charged in South Central District Court in McLean County with theft from the McLean County Historical Museum in Washburn. Roger Allan Heinle, 56, is charged with conspiracy to commit theft of $10,000-$50,000, a Class B felony; dealing in stolen property, possession of a firearm by a felon or violent misdemeanor, possession of methamphetamine-second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, all Class C felonies. One person dies in head-on crash

KEENE - One person died in a head-on crash on N.D. Highway 23 near Keene Saturday, Aug. 29. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:43 a.m., a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling westbound on Highway 23 near Keene. The Ram crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2013 Peterbilt truck head-on. The driver of the Dodge Ram, Clayton Macklin, 19, Watford City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two receive injuries in crash

MOHALL - A two-vehicle crash occurred on Highways 28 and 5 near Mohall involving a 2004 Ford Taurus and a 2024 Lincoln Aviator Wednesday, Aug. 26. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 5:04 p.m., 32-year-old male from Minot was driving the Ford Taurus southbound on Highway 28 when he rear-ended a Lincoln Aviator, driven by a 54-year-old female from Sherwood, which was stopped at a stop sign. Following the crash, the Ford Taurus became engulfed in flames. Both drivers sustained minor injuries. The male driver was arrested for DUI, according to the Highway Patrol.
