Research fellowship spotlights ND’s most rural communities

SOURIS – Throughout its 11-year history, the nonprofit Strengthen ND has been looking for ways to give North Dakota’s rural communities more control over their own destinies. With North Dakota's newly imposed kratom restrictions in effect, many users are looking to quit the substance. While quitting can be difficult, there are plenty of resources in the Minot community to support those who are struggling. Minot reckless driver sentenced

A Minot man was sentenced Aug. 28 in North Central District Court to five years incarceration for fleeing a peace officer and reckless endangerment-extreme indifference, both Class C felonies. Malachi Richard Red Road, 28, must first serve three years with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with credit for 72 days served, and will be on supervised probation for three years for each charge, which run concurrently. Minot High School will celebrate homecoming this week, Sept. 14-18, with themed activities and traditional events centered around this year’s theme: “A Night Under the Stars.” Students and staff will kick off the week with daily dress-ups related to the theme.
