Minot man sentenced for meth delivery

A Minot man has been sentenced to three years after pleading guilty to the delivery of methamphetamine.

Joseph Brown, 57, entered his change of plea in North Central District Court on Oct. 30, pleading guilty to one count of delivery of controlled substance-methamphetamine, a Class B felony.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the charge against Brown stemmed from a controlled purchase by the Ward County Narcotics Task Force in June 2024. The controlled purchase was for $575 for one ounce of methamphetamine.

District Court Judge Gary Lee sentenced Brown to 10 years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, to first serve three years. Brown was ordered to complete three years of supervised probation upon release and was given credit for 104 days already served. He was also ordered to complete a chemical dependency evaluation and pay $125 in court fines and fees and $550 in restitution.
