Minot woman charged with murder
A 43-year-old Minot woman has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting incident Saturday, Oct. 18, that resulted in the death of a 38-year-old Minot man, according to the Minot Police Department.
Racheal Kathryn Foster was taken into custody at the scene after police responded to a report of gunshots at about 3:04 p.m. in the 10 block of 39th Avenue Southeast. She initially was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony. Police also found Lance David Phillips at the scene with injuries from the shooting. He was transported to the hospital, where he later was pronounced deceased.
Based on an investigation that included interviews and evidence collection, Foster was charged Sunday, Oct. 19, with murder, a Class AA felony. She was taken into custody at the Ward County Jail. The incident remains under investigation, police reported.
