Tioga drone camp serves 65 youth
TIOGA – The 8th Annual Drone Camp for Kids immersed 65 students from 5th to 12TH grade in the world of drones and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Tioga Area Economic Development, in partnership with Enel Green Power North America, sponsored the camp Aug. 10-11
Over the course of two days, students engaged in hands-on training that covered everything from drone usage and safety protocols to privacy concerns and competitive flight skills. The camp not only provided students with practical knowledge but also introduced them to the vast vocational opportunities available in the rapidly expanding field of drone technology. The University of North Dakota provides and delivers the aviation curriculum.
In addition to the drone camp, students had the opportunity to participate in a simultaneous Robot Camp.. This segment offered a chance for students to assemble and program DIY drones, further enhancing their technological skills and sparking their interest in robotics and programming.
