Norsk Hostfest has announced the appointment of Kevin Burckhard of Minot as its new development officer. He brings a wealth of experience and passion for philanthropy.

In the new role, Burckhard will spearhead Norsk Hostfest’s fundraising initiatives, cultivate donor relationships and develop strategic partnerships to support the mission of preserving and sharing Scandinavian culture, heritage and educational programs.

He started his career as a financial adviser, which has continued for almost 40 years. He began attending Norsk Hostfest in 1992 as a volunteer, greeting people as they came through the door, setting the tone of their experience. Over the years, he has held many other volunteer roles at the festival, most recently as an emcee for the musical talent.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the Norsk Hostfest family,” said Alexis Meyer, executive director. “Kevin has a passion for Norsk Hostfest and our community. We believe he will help to advance our mission and make a positive impact on our community and the festival, positively projecting it into the future.”

Norsk Hostfest is held annually in the fall in the N.D. State Fair Center in Minot. The festival, now entering its 45th year, will be held from Sept. 25-28.
