Suspect arrested for robbery in northwest Minot

A Minot man has been arrested by Minot Police after allegedly assaulting and robbing a victim in northwest Minot on Sunday.

Dion L. Williams, 42, Minot, was arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

According to a release from Minot Police, Williams allegedly approached the victim, who was an acquaintance, and demanded the return of personal items. The victim denied having Williams’s property, but was assaulted by Williams resulting in bodily injury before he forcefully took the property.

Williams fled the scene before officers arrived, but was later located and arrested for Class B felony robbery and transported to the Ward County Jail. The victim refused transport to the hospital for minor injuries.

No date has been set for Williams’s initial appearance, according to court records. The investigation is ongoing.
