Rockin’ Horse under new ownership
The Rockin’ Horse is under new ownership. Dutch Mill Beverages, LLC, has purchased both the bar and bottle shop located at 2625 E Burdick Expressway and MSI is operating the establishment as of May 26.
The Rockin’ Horse name will stay, with “Saloon and Sports Bar” added to the new logo. Tina Tichy will continue to manage bar operations as she has since 2007 with the help of the new assistant manager, Craig Hester.
“We are hoping to provide something for everyone at The Rockin’ Horse,” Hester said. “I think people will be very pleased with the changes coming while we update and upgrade something great into something even better.”
“We have many years of experience in the food and beverage business, but operating a bar and bottle shop is something new for us,” said Lexi Rosenthal, director of Marketing and Operations for MSI. “We are happy Tina has decided to stay and share her knowledge with us, and bringing Craig into the mix was the right move. We’re looking forward to tapping into the potential the Rockin’ Horse has and making it the ‘go-to’ for live country music, sports watching, gaming, good eats and great drink specials. It will be fun to put our spin on it and drive more people to this side of town.”
The Rockin’ Horse was once a pillar of the bar scene on the east side of Minot.
“So many people have told me how busy this bar was back in the ’90s when it was Friday’s,” Rosenthal said. “It will be fun to get to that point again.”
