New rope climbing course this season at Berry Acres

Jen Brodal/MDN The rope climbing course is a new attraction at Berry Acres this season.

Berry Acres pumpkin patch has a new attraction this fall, a rope climbing course that is positioned right next to the mini golf course. Patch owner and author Ashley Berry said they built a new wooden rope course, which is a series of wooden beams with different rope climbing activities and a rock-climbing wall, between beams.

In addition to the new rope course, the patch has installed an automatic pay per pumpkin building for the pumpkin cannon that is now available to use daily rather than just weekends, said Berry. Every year the stacked hay bales have a theme character painted on them throughout the patch and this year they have chosen the Illumination Entertainment movie Sing as their inspiration, said Berry.

For the eight dollars admission (free for 3 and under) guests have access to the corn maze, corn box, life- sized chess and checkers, tire mountain, zip track, bales of fun with slides, swings, pedal cars, rope course, picture displays and the fishing pond. For hay rides and train rides, mini golf, paintball, laser tag, pumpkin cannons and petting zoo there are extra fees.

Berry has also written a book, “Waiting for Rainbows,” released last September 2021, about her family’s infertility and adoption journey. Berry Acres has been open since mid-September on weekdays at noon – 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Berry Acres will be open, weather permitting, until Sunday, Oct. 30.
