First District schedules vaccine clinics

First District Health Unit has announced it has flu vaccine for people 65 and older, as well as the new COVID-19 bivalent booster.

A special vaccination event is scheduled at the Minot office today, Monday and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day. No appointment is needed. The only flu vaccine currently available is specially formulated for people 65 and older. To attend the flu clinic, enter through Door B and bring your insurance card.

COVID-19 vaccinations will also be available during this event, including the new bivalent COVID-19 booster. The booster is authorized for people 12 years and older. It can be given at the same time as the flu shot, but must be at least two months after the last COVID-19 vaccination. People who recently had a COVID-19 infection may consider waiting for three months after testing positive or having symptoms. Anyone with a current COVID-19 infection should wait until their isolation period is over to get vaccinated.

To get either the 65+ flu shot or the new COVID-19 booster in any other First District location, please call that local office for an appointment.

Flu vaccine for those 6 months through 64 years has not yet been received. The public should watch local news sources, fdhu.org or social media for updates.
