The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the person killed in single vehicle accident near Powers Lake on Sept. 5. Dead is Alvin Holmen, 75, Powers Lake.

Holmen was the driver of a 1997 ford F150 pickup that was westbound on 76th Avenue NW, left the roadway, and became stuck in a grove of bushes.

Holmen attempted to back the vehicle out but it caught fire and was completely engulfed when firefighters arrived. Holmen died at the scene four miles south of Power Lake.
