Students fulfill angel tree wishes

The Sources of Strength club at Jim Hill Middle School has been focusing on generosity this month by fulfilling some community needs at local elementaries with an angel tree.

Alora Robertson, one of the adult leaders of the club, said that Jim Hill’s “feeder schools” were contacted by Alyssa Palmer, the other adult leader of the club. Families in need at the schools were selected by individual school counselors.

“Children were able to choose six total gifts; three wants and three needs,” said Robertson in an email. “Throughout the last few weeks we were able to continually add families to our Angel Tree as donors were continually reaching out. With the community’s help, we were able to fill those needs with over 200 gifts.”

Robertson said her classes have also been focusing on generosity and are learning that there are more ways to help with the school’s Angel Trees. They have been wrapping presents and writing thank you cards.
