Duell McCall Clifton, 25, Minot, is a suspect in the murder of a Minot woman, according to Minot police.

Clifton was apprehended Monday at a residence in Faith, S.D. Minot police say they received a request to check on the welfare of a woman in southeast Minot at 4:59 p.m. Monday. Information they gathered during an investigation at the residence led them to contact authorities in South Dakota, who arrested Clifton at 11:33 p.m. Monday. Authorities in South Dakota found the woman dead. Clifton is to remain in custody in South Dakota pending an initial appearance and will eventually be transported back to North Dakota.

Police did not identify the dead woman.

Court records show that Clifton will be charged in district court in Minot with Class AA felony murder and Class C felony tampering with physical evidence.
