Kim Fundingsland/MDN Lake Darling, located within the boundaries of the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge northwest of Minot, opened for boat fishing and paddlecraft Wednesday. All docks are in place adjacent to boat ramps at the lake. In addition, the large fishing pier is open for use at Landing No. 3. The boating season opens annually at Lake Darling on May 1 and closes Sept. 30.
