Visitors tour new ND Governor’s Residence
Eloise Ogden/MDN A group of visitors wait to tour the new 13,700-square-foot North Dakota Governor’s Residence at the southwest corner of the Capitol grounds in Bismarck Tuesday afternoon. The partial tour took visitors through the lower level formal space and the upper level informal multipurpose room and kitchen. The North Dakota Legislature voted in 2015 to build a new Governor’s Residence costing up to $5 million, with $4 million from the Capitol Building Trust Fund and up to $1 million from private donations. About $4.88 million has been spent on the project, including demolishing the former 1960 Governor’s Residence that was located next door.
