LIGHTHOUSE FELLOWSHIP TO HOST SPEAKER Russian Harvest Ministries evangelist Peter Mehl will speak at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in Lighthouse Fellowship Church, 1400-5th St. SW.

Sloppy joes and bars will be served during a greet-and-meet time, beginning at 5 p.m.

BENEFIT BREAKFAST PLANNED FOR VELVA MAN A benefit pancake, sausage and egg breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

A freewill offering will be received and all proceeds will be used to help defray medical/travel expenses for Gene Buen who is battling brain cancer. People unable to attend but who wish to donate can make a donation payable to the Buen Benefit Fund, c/o Peoples State Bank, PO Box 40, Velva, ND 58790.

ANNUAL FALL ROAST PORK DINNER TO BE HELD IN GRANVILLE The annual fall roast pork dinner and bazaar/bake sale at Hope Congregational Church, Granville, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 2.

The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for children age 5 and under.

Cutlery, baked items, garden produce, canned produce, craft items and “next-to-new” items will be available for sale.

The church has an elevator to access the basement.

DATE SET FOR LUTEFISK, MEATBALL SUPPER IN STANLEY CHURCH The annual lutefisk and meatball supper in American Lutheran Church, Stanley, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Tickets will be $15 for adults and $5 for youth ages 6-12. There will be no charge for preschoolers. Take-out orders will be available.

There will be entertainment before, during and after the supper.

Supplemental funds have been applied for through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

FIRST BAPTIST TO HOST WORSHIP, FELLOWSHIP NIGHT First Baptist Church, of Minot, will host “The ReUnion,” a night of worship and fellowship on Friday, Oct. 31.

Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with worship to follow at 7 p.m. There will be a special service in the gym for kids age 4-10 with music, Bible stories, games and, of course, candy.

The church is located at 200 3rd St. SW.

TURKEY DINNER SCHEDULED IN MINOT Knights of Columbus Council #9906 will serve a turkey dinner Sunday, Oct. 26, in the lower level of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, 218 1st St. SE, Minot. An elevator is available on the north side of the church.

The cost will be $10 for adults; $6 for youth ages 6 to 12 and $2 for children ages 2 to 5.

Proceeds of the dinner will benefit local seminarians.

CATHOLIC RADIO PRESENTATION SCHEDULED Janelle Schanilec, director of development for Real Presence Radio, will speak about the ministry and growth of Catholic radio at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the dining room at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 707 16th Ave. SW, Minot. The event is open to the public.

Real Presence Radio offers Catholic programming on 91.1 FM Minot and several other stations in North Dakota and Minnesota.

BREAKFAST SCHEDULED A breakfast of pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage and a fruit cup will be served from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in the dining area of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 700 16th Ave. SW.

Our Lady of Grace Knights of Columbus Council is sponsoring the breakfast.

Proceeds of the freewill offerings for the breakfast will go to Special Olympics and Home on the Range.

FUNDRAISING EVENT PLANNED NOV. 2 Shepherd’s Hill at the Crossroads will host “Faith Alive,” a campfire crusade, at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Sleep Inn in Minot.

The event will include a fireside meal, entertainment and silent and live auctions.

Reservations can be made individually or by sponsoring a table by calling Paige at 244-0075 or 244-5225.

The event is supported by Thrivent Financial and proceeds will go toward replacing the roof of the chapel at the camp.

FALL BAZAAR SCHEDULED IN MINOT CHURCH The annual fall bazaar at Vincent United Methodist Church, 1024 2nd St. SE, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the church fellowship hall, which is handicapped accessible. The traditional lunch of creamed turkey on biscuits will be served from 11 a.m. until gone.

Crafts and baked goods will be available for sale. A silent auction, which will close at 1 p.m., will also be held.

VELVA CHURCH TO HOST ANNUAL LUTEFISK SUPPER Oak Valley Lutheran Church, of Velva, will host its 23rd annual lutefisk supper from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets will be $15 for adults and $8 for youth ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for children age 5 and under.

A bazaar and bake sale will be held in conjunction with the supper.

LUTEFISK, MEATBALL DINNER SCHEDULED IN BOTTINEAU The First Lutheran Church Men’s lutefisk and meatball dinner in Bottineau will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets will be $14 for adults, $10 for junior high, high school and college students and $6 for youth in grade school. Children under age 6 will not be charged. Takeouts will be available for $1 per plate extra.

A silent auction will be held during the dinner.

FIRST BAPTIST XYZ TO MEET THURSDAY First Baptist Church XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people in the 5-plus age group, will meet 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church, 200 3rd St. SW.

The program will be presented by Jan Schimke, of Bismarck. Schimke is ND 2014 Mother of the Year.

Refreshments will be served.

BAZAAR TO BE HELD OCT. 25 IN MINOT The annual bazaar and raffle in Zion Lutheran Church, 1800 Hiawatha St., will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 25. Soup and breads will be served at noon and rolls and muffins will be served all day.

Christmas decorations, knickknacks and handmade specialty items will be sold in the “Holiday Room” and books, clothing and rummage sale items will be sold in the “Big Room,” with bag sales from 1 to 2 p.m. Raffle tickets will be sold for quilts, a wall hanging and outside arbor bench with the drawing of winners at 2 p.m. Winners need not be present for the drawing.

A variety of baked goods, including lefse, unbaked frozen apple pies, cookies and bars will be available for sale.

BUTTE CHURCH TO HOST ANNUAL ROAST BEEF SUPPER St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Butte, will hold its annual roast beef fall supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets will be $12 for adults and $6 for youth ages 6 to 12. Preschoolers will not be charged. Take-out meals will be available.

Baked goods and raffle ticket will be sold starting at 4:45 p.m.

DATE SET FOR FALL BAZAAR IN DES LACS Des Lacs United Methodist Church will hold its annual fall bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Des Lacs City Hall.

A full noon meal of scalloped potatoes and ham, including a full salad bar and pie and coffee, will be served.

Craft items and baked goods will be available for sale.

MINOT CHURCH TO HOST CONCERT BY GREG HAGER Southside Church of the Nazarene will host a gospel music concert by Greg Hager Sunday. Hager, a North Dakota native, is a singer, songwriter and musician who sings stories about love, life, living and faith.

A chili feed will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will follow at 6:30 p.m. Both events will be in the church at 2220 24th Ave. SE, Minot.

Proceeds of the donations for the chili feed will support the building project. Hager will receive the proceeds of the freewill offering taken during the concert for his ministry.

TOWNER CHURCH SETS DATE FOR ANNUAL LUTEFISK SUPPER Zion Lutheran Church, of Towner, will host its annual lutefisk and meatball family-style supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the church.

Tickets will be $15 for adults and $8 for youth ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for preschoolers.

Takeout meals and delivery in Towner will be available for $1 extra per meal.

ROAST PORK DINNER TO BE HELD IN BOTTINEAU United Parish, of Bottineau, will hold a roast pork supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in the church.

The cost will be $12 for adults, $8 for college, senior high and junior high students and $5 for youth in grades 1 to 5. There will be no charge for preschoolers. Takeout meals will be $13.

HOLIDAY FEST BAZAAR PLANNED The annual Holiday Fest Bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway.

The bazaar will include Grandma’s Attic items, a silent auction, a bake shop with lefse, craft shop and holiday items.

Ribbon sandwiches, homemade soups and pie will be sold for lunch.

PRIMETIMERS TO MEET THURSDAY The PrimeTimers Fellowship group from Our Redeemer’s Church, 700 16th Ave. SE, will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday.

NorVal Semchenko, of Max, will share about his recent mission trip to Haiti.

Refreshments will be served by Group III.

DINNER, BAZAAR SCHEDULED IN PLAZA CHURCH A pork roast dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in First Lutheran Church, Plaza. The dinner will include dressing, rommegrot and lefse.

NEW CHURCH FORMED IN MINOT A new church in Minot, called Minot Korean Baptist Church, will hold worship services at 1 p.m. Sunday in Cross Roads Baptist Church, 415 28th Ave. SE.

This church is joining the North American Mission Board and the Dakota State Convention to plan its future.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CLUB TO MEET TUESDAY Minot Christian Women’s Club will meet from 12:15 to 2 p.m. on Oct. 14 in the Knights of Columbus Clubrooms, 2601 N. Broadway. The cost is $11 inclusive. Anyone may attend.

Officer Todd Haman from Minot Police Department will explain how to avoid fraud and scams. Musical entertainment will be provided by Justin Johnson, of Minot, who plays saxophone. The guest speaker, Linda Olson, of Minot, will provide hope for today and forever with her message, “Celebrate Life with It’s Ups and Downs!”
