Minot author chosen to represent ND in Great Reads

A Minot author will be participating in the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C., this fall as well as participating in readings and discussions at select North Dakota libraries through the Great Reads program. Corps waives day use fees June 16

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has announced it will waive day use fees at its more than 2,600 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in observance of the USACE’s founding day, June 16, and Juneteenth National Independence Day, June 19. The waiver covers fees for boat launch ramps and swimming beaches. The waiver does not apply to camping and camping-related services or fees for specialized facilities (group picnic shelters) and events. Parenting event on summer fun set for June 25

The June Parent Cafe, “Safe, Affordable Summer Fun,” will be offered online Wednesday, June 25, from noon-1 p.m. Discussion will cover summer safety tips and participants will exchange ideas for affordable family activities in local communities. Online Parent Cafe events offer a chance to connect, reflect and listen to other parents and caregivers. Parent education credit hours are available.
