MSU to host Hometown Pride Ice Cream Social

Minot State University will host a Hometown Pride Ice Cream Social during opening day of the Class B Region 6 Boys Tournament on Monday, according to information provided by MSU.

Ice cream will be available for all tournament attendees between games one and two and again between games three and four, from about 4-4:30 p.m. and 7-7:30 p.m., in the southwest corner of the third floor of the Minot State Dome.

“We at Minot State feel very lucky to host the Region 6 Tournament as it brings so many families from neighboring communities right here to campus,” said Cole Krueger, Minot State marketing director. “The Hometown Pride Ice Cream Social is a way for us to say thanks for bringing so much pride and energy to the Dome.”

The quarterfinals kick off at 3 p.m. between Rugby and Our Redeemer’s, with Surrey taking on Velva during the second game. Game three will begin around 6 p.m. with Bishop Ryan facing off against TGU. The final game of the night features Bottineau and Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood.

All schools involved in the Region 6 Tournament come from Minot State’s Hometown Pride Scholarship area. This new $1,000 scholarship is exclusively for May 2022 high school graduates from Minot and regional schools located in North Dakota’s northwestern counties.
