WAHPETON – Several area youth were among 82 participants taking part in the American Legion Boys State on the North Dakota State College of Science campus June 14-19. Participating were Reino Swartwout, Minot; Shaun Randall, Berthold; Gabriel Magallon, Douglas; Brendan Berntson, Aaron Fuller and Owen Trautman, Garrison; and Layne Anderson, Velva. The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation is partnering with the Brady Oberg Legacy Foundation for its fourth season of Strike Out the Stigma, an initiative focused on raising awareness and support for veteran mental health across North Dakota. Planning commission supports turbine repowering
Basin Electric Power Cooperative gained the support of the Ward County Planning Commission Thursday, June 18, for a wind farm repowering project, south of Minot. The commission voted 6-2 with one abstention to recommend the county commission approve a conditional use permit. The permit request, on second reading, drew minimal opposition, unlike the first reading. Missionary doctor to speak at Minot Baptist Church
Dr. Patricia Catrow, a missionary doctor, will speak at Minot Baptist Church Sunday, June 21. Catrow has been involved with medical missions even before she separated from the Air Force. She was last assigned to Minot Air Force Base. Catrow has visited several countries and recently returned from Albania, where she served alongside other doctors and evangelists. The team is able to help in many of the medical fields as well as sharing the message of Christ.
