Free suicide intervention training offered

A free suicide intervention skills training will be offered in Minot Sept. 2-3.

This training is valuable for educators, healthcare professionals, first responders, law nforcement, social service professionals, faith communities, college students, community leaders and anyone who wants to feel more prepared to help someone experiencing a suicide crisis.

The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) will be held from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. both days at the Sleep Inn and Suites in Minot. The training is free thanks to the sponsorship of ND HOPES.

ASIST is a two-day interactive training that helps participants learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, have a direct conversation about suicide, and help create a plan for safety. To register, visit myfirstlink.org.
