Native American Hall of Honor ceremony open to everyone

BISMARCK – An induction ceremony on Sept. 6 of three new recipients being recognized in the Native American Hall of Honor located in the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum, Bismarck, is open to the public.

A social will begin with a free traditional feed at 5 p.m., followed by the induction ceremony at 6 p.m. in the Russell Reid Auditorium of the N.D. Heritage Center. The Native American Hall of Honor will open after the ceremony. Information relating to each inductee will be featured in the exhibit.

Inductees include: the 1941-42 Elbowoods Warriors Basketball Team of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation; Betty Gress of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation; and Patrick Moses Gourneau of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.
