Rebuild Curves on County Road 16
WARD COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA
Notice is hereby given that the
County Commissioners of the Coun-
ty of Ward, North Dakota, will re-
ceive sealed bids for the following
project: Rebuilding Curves on Coun-
ty Road 16 located Southeast of
Minot ND. The project site is located
approximately 3 miles east of the in-
tersection of County Road 16 and
State Highway 83. For this project
bids will ONLY be received and ac-
cepted via the online electronic bid
service through QuestCDN.com. All
bids must be submitted by 2:00
P.M., Monday, July 15th, 2019.
Copies of the plans, specifications
and proposal forms may be obtained
at the Ward County Highway
Department, 900 13th ST SE Minot,
North Dakota, 58701, upon receipt
of a non-refundable fee of $100.00
for each set of documents, or on
QuestCDN (#6415280) to Qualified
Contractors (registered contractors)
with the North Dakota Department of
Transportation. The work consists of
the following approximate quantities:

All bids are to be submitted on the
basis of cash payment for the work
and materials, accompanied by a
bidder’s bond in the amount of five
(5) percent of the total bid, executed
by the bidder as principal, and by a
surety company authorized to do
business in the State of North Dako-
ta, as a guarantee that the bidder
will do business in the State of North
Dakota, as a guarantee that the
bidder will enter into a contract for
performance of such work in case
the contract is awarded to him. All
bid security shall comply with Sec-
tion 11-11-28 and amendments
thereto of the North Dakota Century
Code. In the event NDCC Section
11-11-28 is deemed not to be appli-
cable as a matter of law, then in the
alternative, the Ward County Com-
mission applies its discretionary
power to apply NDCC Section
11-11-28 and all bid security shall
comply fully. All bidders must be
licensed for the highest amount of
their bids, as provided by Section
3-07-05 of the North Dakota Century
Code. The Contractor shall give (10)
days’ notice prior to starting any
construction work and shall com-
plete the project no later than Oc-
tober 1st, 2019. The County Com-
missioners of Ward County reserve
the right to reject any or all bids, to
waive any irregularities and to hold
bids for a period not to exceed Thirty
(30) days from the date of opening.

MOWING NOTICE
FARMERS AND RANCHERS
The Ward County Highway Depart-
ment started mowing the ditches
around the Minot area the end of
June. Additional ditch mowing ex-
tending out into the county will start
on July 8th. Adjacent landowners
who plan to mow ditches for hay
should cut before the county mows
these areas. There will be no excep-
tions to leaving sections for haying.
A map of the mowing areas will be
available on the county website
www.co.ward.nd.us/highway. Please
note that in areas where there are
construction projects scheduled,
mowing will be completed as a part
of the project prior, to the time indi-
cated on the website. No hay bales
can be placed within the clear zone
of a county road (20 ft off the edge
of the roadway). All hay bales shall
be removed from county road
ditches by November 1. Unclaimed
hay bales will become the property
of Ward County and will be sold or
burned after November 1st.
