The weather was hot and so were the bats for the Minot High baseball team during its doubleheader sweep of Watford City on Wednesday, April 22. The Magicians amassed 38 runs and collected 30 hits, as they took Game 1 by putting up a season-high 27 runs in a 27-1 victory. They completed the sweep with an 11-9 win in the finale. Mandan scored the bulk of its runs over the final few innings in a pair of victories over the Minot North softball team on Wednesday, April 22, at Scheels Complex. The Braves plated 13 runs in the last three frames for a 15-7 victory in Game 1 and completed the sweep with five runs in the seventh of an 11-6 win in game 2. The Minot High softball team was held to one run on two hits in a pair of losses to defending state champion Williston on Tuesday, April 21, at Williston State College. The Coyotes no-hit the Majettes in the nightcap. The Coyotes needed just three innings to end the opener, scoring 20 runs on 13 hits in a 20-0 victory.
