The Minot North girls tennis team dropped its season finale to Bismarck Century, 7-2, on Thursday, May 14, at Sertoma Courts in Bismarck, but it wasn’t all bad news for the Sentinels. For the first time in program history, the Sentinels (7-6 overall, 4-5 WDA) avoided the WDA Tournament play-in round and instead have already earned a spot into the postseason tournament as the No. 6 seed thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker over Bismarck High. The Minot High girls tennis team won its fifth consecutive outright WDA regular season title and 16th in program history following a 9-0 victory over Bismarck Legacy on Thursday, May 14, in its regular season finale. For the third consecutive season, the Minot North softball team will have to play itself into the WDA Tournament following a pair of losses to Bismarck High on Tuesday, May 12. The Demons scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning in the opener en route to a 10-5 victory. The Minot High softball team won’t have to wait long to attempt to avenge its doubleheader sweep at the hands of Bismarck Century on Tuesday, May 12. The Majettes and Patriots will meet once again on Monday, May 18, in Bismarck for a WDA Tournament play-in game at 2:30 p.m. Century earned home field by knocking off Minot High 11-5 and 17-4 in the regular-season finale to secure the No. 8 seed.
