Girls led the way on the final day of Class B action

BISMARCK – The final day of the 2024 NDHSAA State Track and Field Meet brought more medals and personal best times as athletes look to reap the rewards that they have trained for all season long.

In the Class B Competition, Des-Lacs Burlington/ Lewis and Clark girls came in 7th place with an overall team score of 32, while rugby girls finished eighth with 30 points and Velva-Drake/Anamoose claimed ninth place with 26 points.

Des-Lacs Burlington/Lewis and Clark sophomore Brynn Hanson was exceptional as she won the girl’s Class B 800-Meter Finals in a 2:17.20 time to add on the other medals she had won on the previous days.

Velva-Drake/Anamoose sophomore Anya Olson won the girl’s Class B 400 Finals with a personal best time of 56.39.

Velva-Drake/Anamoose Olson was second in the girl’s Class B 200 Finals with a 25.00 time, while Bishop Ryans TochiUdekwe placed third with a 25.10 time.

Udekwe placed second in the girl’s Class B 100 Finals with a 12.42 time, and Velva-Drake/Anamoose Anya Olson claimed fourth in a 12.62 time.

Rugby 4×400 girls (Brooklyn Bartsch, Elise Fahnestock,Rylah Hagler, Hannah Senechal) ran a personal best time of 4:08.06 to place second in the girl’s Class B Finals of the event.

Rugby’s Ashley Martodam placed third in the girl’s Class B 100 Hurdles Finals with a 15.95 time.

Rugby’s Martodam also ran a personal best in the girl’s Class B 300 Hurdles Finals with a 46.82 time to finish in fifth place.

Des-Lacs Burlington/Lewis and Clark’s Hanson ran a personal best time of 58.68 to finish fifth in the girl’s Class B 400 Final, while Rugby’s Bartsch ran a personal best time of 59.75 to finish in eighth place.

Rugby sophomore Senechal placed 11th place in the girl’s Class B 800 Finals while teammate and senior Bartsch placed 19th in a 2:34:46 time.

The Velva-Drake/Anamoose quartet (Chloe Cadwell,Evelyn Isaak, Rylie Weninger, Olson) ran a personal best time of 1:47.06 to place sixth in the girl’s class B 4×200 Relay Finals.

The Rugby girls (Bostyn Bailey, Sam Blessum, Miryilyn Migler,Elise Fahnestock) ran a personal best time of 51.28 to place seventh in the girl’s Class B 4×100 Relay Finals.

Des-Lacs Burlington/Lewis and Clark (Fallon Fagerland, Daniela Irwin, Ella Brown, Jacey Hutton) ran a personal best time of 4:28.37 to place 20th in the girl’s Class B 4×100 Relay Finals.

The Nedrose Relay team (Amber Mariner, Natalie Becker, Hannah Beuchler, Khylie Schlotz) ran 4:29.85 in the girl’s Class B 4×400 Finals.

Rugby boys finished 29th with an overall team score of five points, Des-Lacs Burlington/Lewis and Clark finished 30th with four points, and nedrose placed 35th with three points.

Cy Walker of Rugby was fourth in the Men’s Class B 110 Hurdles Finals with a 15.96 time.

Nedrose senior Keaton Cole was sixth in the Men’s Class B 200 Finals with a 23.12 time.

In the Men’s Class B 800 Finals, Beulah’s Logan Neuberger finished 16th in a 2:01.89 time, while Bishop Ryan’s Blake Kaylor finished 24th in a 2:07:40 time and Des-Lacs Burlington/Lewis and Clark’s Zayden Grover was 27th in a 2:10.45 time.

Des-Lacs Burlington/ Lewis and Clark boys ran a personal best time of 3:44.52 to place 17th in the Men’s Class B 4×400 Relay Finals.
