Glenburn High School senior Emma Jones broke 2,000 career points during the Panthers’ home game against the Tioga Pirates on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Jones has been with Head Coach Jordan Pederson and the Glenburn Panthers since her seventh grade year in 2019. This season, Glenburn remains undefeated in district basketball.

This past weekend on Saturday, Feb. 7, Jones and the Panthers were at their home gym hoping to get in one last win before the 2026 Division B, District 6 Girls Basketball Tournament in their game against Tioga. Earlier this season, Jones made school history, breaking the Panthers’ record for career points in their game against Westhope/Newburg on Jan. 6 with a 35-point performance, netting her a total of 1,819 points in her varsity career.

When the Panthers stepped out onto the court last Saturday night, Jones once again made history. With just two minutes seven seconds left in the ball game, Jones put up two points under pressure, totaling 18 points for her at that point in the night. Those same two points officially put Jones over the top, totaling her 2,000th career point in varsity basketball. Jones also made her 1,200th career rebound that same game.

Though the Panthers walked away with a 46-58 defeat to the Pirates, the four-time all-district and three-time all-region select made her mark on school history.

Jones plans to stay local after graduating high school this year. Late last year on Nov. 21 of 2025, Jones officially signed on to play women’s basketball at Minot State University.

Even after thier loss to Tioga, the Panthers are still ranked first in Region 3, District 6. The Panthers will next play in the 2026 NDHSAA Division B, District 6 Girls Basketball Tournament at the MSU Dome beginning on Thursday, Feb. 12, against an undetermined opponent.
