The Minot State women’s basketball team is back in action this week, hitting the road for a pair of exhibition games as the Beavers gear up for the start of the 2025-26 season.

The Beavers showed plenty of promise during last week’s D2 CCA Canadian Tip-Off Classic, where they battled through three close games against strong competition. Senior Taryn Hamling led the way with 15.7 points per game, continuing to prove herself in the NSIC. Sophomore Maya Aguilar made her presence felt as well, averaging 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds while knocking down shots from deep.

After their first weekend of play in British Columbia, the Beavers currently sit 0-3. Taryn Hamling leads the Beavers in both total points (47) as well as 3-pointers (11). Maya Aguilar leads the team in total rebounds with 23.

Minot State opens play Friday night in Mayville, North Dakota, against Mayville State, before heading west to Bozeman, Montana, for a Monday matchup with Montana State.

The Mayville State comets are currently 0-3 in their preseason play. The Comets are led in points by Misti Zempel who has totaled 23 in the preseason. Hannah Stark is leading the Comets in 3-pointers with a total of eight, and both Zempel and Stark lead the Comets in rebounds with 16.

The Montana State Bobcats are currently 1-0 and are led in both total points and 3-pointers by Addison Harris who has accumulated 27 total points and three 3-pointers. Kadynce Couture currently leads the Bobcats in rebounds with nine total.

Friday’s game marks a rematch with Mayville State, which topped Minot State 79-63 last season. The Beavers will then test themselves against Division I competition on Monday, taking on a tough Montana State squad in their final tune-up before the regular season begins.

Both games will give the Beavers a chance to keep building chemistry and momentum as they prepare for their official season.

Friday’s game is set to start against the Comets at 5:30 pm in Mayville, North Dakota. After the weekend, the Beavers will take on the Bobcats on Monday at 11:00 am (MT) in Bozeman, Montana.

Starting at $2.99/week.
