Williams County edges Des Lacs-Burlington

The Des Lacs-Burlington boys wrestling team worked hard on their home site mats in the Bucky and Linda Anderson Classic and came up short to Williams County with ten schools represented by wrestlers on Saturday, December 28, at the Lakers gym

The Lakers had the top grappler at the 114-lbs classification with Tucker Miller beating Daxton Gilder from Williams County for first place. Behind Gilder in second was Braden Brossart from Rugby in third, Landyn Tetreau from Larimore in fourth place and Tycen Macken- also from Larimore- in fifth place.

Tristan Miller from Williams County beat Keenan Gores of the Northern Lights for fist place at the 121 classification. Weston Sheldon of Williams County was third while Dallin Herman of the Northern Lights was fourth. Nickolas Polglaze of Williams County solidified the points with the fifth place finish.

At the 127 classification, Kayden Loule from the Northern Lights bested Isaac Sattler from Rugby for first place. Brock Poff from Williams County was third while Kysten Keever- also from Williams County was fourth. Eric Mahle from Rugby was in fifth place.

At 133, Williams County took first and second place with Boden Iverson besting Michael Twinn who are teammates. Shawn Barrette from Des Lacs-Burlington was third while Logan Dietzler from Larimore was fourth. Ben McCloud of the Northern Lights finished in fifth place.

Williams County again took first and second, this time at the 139 classification with Walker Sheldon and Levi Jensen taking the top two spots respectively. Ian McCloud from the Northern Lights finished in third place.

Braelyn Herman from the Northern Lights beat Levi Todd from Larimore in the title match at 145 with Tavin Skalicky of Williams County in third place. Kipp McDougall, also from the Northern Lights, finished in fourth place.

At 152, Breyden Buee notched another first place for the Lakers with Jeremiah Schmidt from Williams County in second place. Peace Weber from White Shield took third while Dane Decoteau of the Northern Lights was fourth. Thatcher Davis from Williams County took fifth place for more team points.

Rugby registered solid team points at 160 when Bailey Zachmeier beat Jeremiah Walsh from Williams County for first place. Jack Smith from DLB was third while Jasper Loran was fourth for the Northern Lights. Channing Davis, also from the Northern Lights, finished in fifth place.

Triden Thull from Williams County edged Eli Buee from the Lakers for first place at 172 while David Botelho from Larimore was third. Pius Wangler from Rugby was fourth while Eduardo Guzman, also from Rugby, finished in fifth place.

Jonathan Smith from Des Lacs-Burlington beat his teammate Kenny Smith at 215 for first and second place. Braden Jundt, also a Laker, won third place over Ashton Weathersby from Williams County, who finished fourth.
