Laker Laila Christianson state medalist in Class B girls golf

FARGO – Des Lacs-Burlington sophomore Laila Christianson played two rounds of golf at the 2024 NDHSAA Class B Girls Golf State Tournament held September 30-October 1 at the Fargo Country Club, shot a two day 157 and will bring home the medalist title and bragging rights for the next year as the top girl golfer in Class B for North Dakota.

The Oak Grove girls team captured the team title with a score of 656 while Kindred was second at 714 for the two day event. Heart River was a close third at 716 and the Lakers posted a team 733 for fourth place. Bottineau was sixth at 762 with Kenmare just behind them at seventh at 766 for the team score. Rugby turned in a team 794 score for tenth place at the state event.

In addition to Chrisianson as the medalist, Lakers junior Ella Pearson shot a 179 to finish in 13th place and sophomore Sharon Osteroos hit 190 for the tournament. Seventh grader Lauryn Christianson carded a 192 for 35th place at the event. Junior Ava Walen scored 205 for 69th place and senior Hanna Hall posted 220 for 89th place. Junior Kaylee Austin shot a 236 for 106th place to round out the Des Lacs-Burlington team score.

Bottineau sophomore Ellee Rybchinski shot a 170 for seventh place at the state meet. Senior Sienna Shurley scored 192 for 35th place while sophomore Katie Moen turned in a 193 for 38th place. Sophomore Logyn Simpson carded a 211 for 76th place while senior Naomi Saykora scored 212 for 80th place. Fellow senior Sidney Kersten fired a 214 for 85th place to round out the team score for Bottineau.

Cami Knutson recorded a 188 for 27th place to lead the charge for the Lady Honkers. Sophomores Charlotte Brekhus and Brooke Lingingston each scored 193 for 38th place. Junior McKenna Mau from Kenmare scored a 195 for 48th place. Junior Rylee Hedberg recorded a 204 for 64th place while freshman Emma Sandberg scored 212 for80th place for the Kenmare team score.

Rugby senior Ashlyn Dibble shot 183 for 19th place to lead the Lady Panthers. Sophomore Marly Santjer hit 193 for 38th place while fellow sophomore Tallie Dosch scored 201 for 59th at the event. Eighth grader Avery Santjer hit 217 for 87th while junior Brooke Kleespie scored 243 for 111th place to round out the team score.
