Run the Route 5K set for Saturday

The annual North Dakota State Fair Run the Route 5K, sponsored by The Minot Daily News, is an annual event for all ages held on the day of the North Dakota State Parade.

This year’s event is Saturday, July 22. Runners will travel the route of the parade prior to the start of the parade.

The run begins at 8:45 a.m. at Our Redeemers Church (South Hill Sports Complex) and finishes on Burdick Expressway at the State Fair Gate E entrance.

Medals and other prizes will be awarded. The first 200 registrants will receive Run the Route T-shirts provided by The Minot Daily News and other sponsors.

A portion of the proceeds from the run will be donated to children’s running groups/programs in the local community (BIOGirls, Strides for Sunnyside, etc.).

Packets can be picked up in advance at Roosevelt Park Zoo lobby today, July 21, from 4:30-6 p.m. Online registration concludes today, July 21, at 11:59 p.m.
