Bismarck Century and Minot High dominate All-State golf roster

Last week, Class A boys’ golf finally arrived at the 19th hole of the 2022 season in Fargo after Rose Creek Golf Course hosted the North Dakota state golf championship on June 7 and 8. Looking to capture back-to-back North Dakota state titles, West Fargo Sheyenne successfully defended their crown with a six stroke victory over runner-up Fargo Davies.

In the wake of the season’s finale, the North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) tallied their votes to designate and honor the best high school boys’ golf players in the state by naming the 2022 Class A Boys’ Golf All-State Team.

The East Region took home the two most noteworthy accolades, with Fargo Davies coach Adam Gronaas taking home NDHSCA SUBWAY Coach of the Year honors, while Shanley senior Jake Skarperud won NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete.

Not to be overshadowed, West Region players from Bismarck Century and Minot High accounted for over half of the total All-State roster, with six of the eleven total members being from one of the aforementioned schools.

During West Region regular season play, Bismarck Century ran the table, winning all seven golf invitationals, with Minot High placing second in all of these events except one. In addition to their regular season title, Bismarck Century proceeded to capture the 2022 West Region tournament crown, followed closely by second-place Minot High.

Players earning All-State honors from Bismarck Century and Minot High include: senior Logan Schoepp (Bismarck Century), senior Dylan Nosbusch (Bismarck Century), junior Cameron Wittenberg (Bismarck Century), junior Anders Alm (Bismarck Century), freshman Kasen Rostad (Minot High), and senior Peyton Bartsch (Minot High).

Congratulations to each player on being recognized by the coaches of the NDHSCA on their impressive 2022 Class A boys’ golf seasons.
