Beavers defeat Peacocks 3-0 to remain undefeated in conference play

Minot State got a pair of goals from Sofia Lewis in a 3-0 shutout victory over Upper Iowa Sunday afternoon at the Herb Parker Stadium. The win improved the Beavers to 7-2 overall and 6-0 in NSIC play.

The Beavers opened the scoring when Lewis recorded her seventh goal of the season in the sixth minute, assisted by Sofia Galvez.

Only five minutes into the second half, the Beavers grabbed a 2-0 advantage on a goal from Chloe Allen, her fifth goal of the season, assisted again by Galvez.

MSU went up 3-0 on Lewis’ 86th-minute goal, her seventh of the season to put the Peacocks away and secure the victory.

Game Notes

Maddie Kindred, who completed the weekend without allowing any goals during the two games, added up four saves for the Beavers out of eight total Peacocks shots. Meanwhile, the MSU offense totaled four shots on goal.

The Beavers stay atop of the NSIC standings being the lone team to not lose or tie a game in conference action so far. Up next, MSU will prepare for homecoming weekend with a duel against the Northern State Wolves (4-3-1, 3-2-1 NSIC) Friday Oct. 8th at 7:30 p.m. The Beavers will conclude homecoming weekend with a matchup against the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons (0-9, 0-6 NSIC) set for Sunday Oct. 10th. Kickoff for that game is set for noon.
