MSU men’s basketball ekes out victory over Ouachita Baptist
SEARCY, Ark. — After trailing Ouachita Baptist University 9-0 in the opening minutes of Saturday night’s contest, the Minot State men’s basketball team clawed back for a 66-62 victory.
Senior guard Kyle Beisch paced the Beavers (2-0) with game-high 23 points. Beisch also added seven rebounds in the win.
A 6-0 MSU run at the end of the half sliced Ouachita Baptist’s lead to 29-28. After some back-and-forth action in the second half, the Beavers hit some crucial free throws to seal the victory.
MSU earned the win despite the Tigers holding a 37-30 advantage on the glass.
MSU junior guard Max Cody scored 19 points and connected on three of his five three-point attempts. Forward Trevor Rothstein led the Beavers with a game-high nine rebounds.
The Beavers will host in-state foe Dickinson State University (0-4) at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13.
