Funding defense spending is priority

Trump's new budget proposes a $1.5 trillion defense budget in fiscal year 2027, a staggering 40% year-over-year increase. At the same time, it outlines a 10% cut in so-called domestic discretionary programs (a category excluding entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security).
