Donald Duchscherer, 71, Granville, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his home.

Donald was born April 2, 1953, the son of Joseph and Eva (Bachmeier) Duchscherer, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Granville and graduated from Granville High School.

He started his career as a Combination Tech at SRT on April 1, 1974 until his retirement on November 1, 2008.

He married Norene Fenner on September 26, 1975. They made their home in Granville, ND.

Donald enjoyed playing his computer games, taking care of his yard, visiting with friends and family, making everyone smile with his jokes, and his most recent interest is going to the casino in New Town. He also enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, and tinkering with everything. He was a jack of all trades and a perfectionist. His favorite line was “how do you see, just like me with your eyes.” Donald will be missed by his dog Meeka.

He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Velva.

His loving family includes: wife of 48 years, Norene, Granville;

children, Susan Duchscherer (Brandy Hatcher), Shanna (Jonathan) Burchett, Joe (Nicole) Duchscherer, all of Minot;

grandchildren, Blake and Alli Duchscherer, Sarah (Gunner) Jensen, Andrew Vetter, and Jason Burchett, all of Minot;

brothers, Kenneth Duchscherer (Janis Neumann), Minot, Duane (Linda) Duchscherer, Castro Valley, CA;

sisters, Loretta Johnson (Jack Dybas) and Julie (Mark) Fimreite, all of Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Eva Duchscherer; Walter Fenner, Esther Freelander, Walter Fenner Jr. Warren Freelander, and Curtis Haberlock.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva.

Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
