Arlene was born October 18, 1925, in rural Parshall, ND to George and Pearl Hove. She attended Parshall High School and graduated in 1943. She continued her secondary education at Minot State Teacher’s College, where she earned her standard teaching certificate.

Arlene taught at Model High School in Minot and then for a time in Williston. She moved to Great Falls, MT in 1952 to continue her teaching career. While in Great Falls, she met her future husband Joe in 1952.

Arlene was united in marriage to Joseph Perry on June 28, 1953, in Raub, ND. They went back to Great Falls, where they made their first home. Following marriage, Arlene worked as a substitute teacher in the school system, and later started a job at Sears, working in catalog sales. She retired after 18 years of service to the company.

Arlene attended Faith United Methodist Church, where she has been a member since 1971. She enjoyed doing volunteer work and especially loved traveling. Arlene also appreciated her travels from coast to coast and border to border with her husband and children during Joe’s military years. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and fellow church members.
