Greyson Gregory Sletto, beloved father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and grandson died May 14, 2023, at age 32 in Minot Greyson was born March 10, 1991, in Wichita Falls, TX and was adopted and welcomed into the family of Roni (Becker) and Gregory Sletto of Willow City, and his sister, Brenna (Sletto) Norby (the first one to hold him). His dad called him “Fred,” and most of his friends know him by that nickname.

Greyson was an awesome and wonderful dad to his son Xavier and Xavier’s brothers Abel and Dusty. Greyson loved his three boys and was thrilled when Abel and Dusty called him dad instead of “G.” He took care of all of their needs and provided love, support, and encouragement, including cheering them on from the sidelines of basketball and soccer games and school events. Greyson enjoyed spending time with his boys, family, and friends at Lake Metigoshe, pulling the boys on the inner tube behind the pontoon for hours. His caring personality and big heart live on through his boys.

Greyson grew up in Willow City enjoying snowmobiling, skiing, camping, and playing all sports. By age 3 ½, he could dribble a basketball; he has passed his love of the game along to his boys evidenced by the two basketball hoops in their living room. As a young boy, he loved to sing and would sing along to any song he knew. He attended elementary school in Willow City, and he loved to run. He placed in the Hershey’s state track meet and Xavier (his mini-me) loves to run now. He attended junior high and high school in Bottineau graduating in 2009. Greyson loved being a Bottineau Brave varsity basketball player, always wearing jersey # 3. He made life-long friends wherever he went, including his many teammates throughout the years.

Greyson attended Bismarck State College in Bismarck before returning to Willow City to farm with his dad. Greyson’s love of farming and licorice started early at 4 years old. Roni had to stop at Cenex for Nibs for Greyson when they hauled grain. He enjoyed operating machinery and was mowing lawns when he was in kindergarten. When he joined his dad, he brought technology to their farming operation. This season he rented his uncle Jeff’s land. Greyson dreamed about he and his boys farming together and, of course, with all red equipment!

Greyson and Brenna both had the joy of their first car being the 1992 Caprice Classic. They texted funny stories with each other no matter what they were doing, mostly about their parents. Greyson was close to his nieces and loved video chatting with them, although not too early in the morning.

Greyson met Cierra at the state fair. They enjoyed meeting each other’s friends and taking the boys out for fun activities. Greyson’s love for basketball rubbed off on Cierra and they would often text and call each other about Lakers games if they weren’t together.

Greyson’s friendly smile will be missed by all blessed to have known him. Willow City won’t be the same without his bright smile and hello for all. He loved his community and always took time to visit with neighbors and offer a helping hand.

Greyson is survived by his sons, Xavier, Abel, and Dusty, parents Roni (Becker) and Gregory Sletto, sister Brenna Norby, her husband Dustin and their two daughters, Amelia and Nylah, Grandmother Norine Sletto, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, his special friend Cierra Wald, and his beloved dog Ace.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Glenn Sletto, Roland and Gertrude Becker, and his aunt, JoDell (Becker) Veil.

He also leaves behind half drank Mountain Dews and bottles of red Gatorade.
