Evernne Novodvorsky

Evernne Ann Novod-

vorsky, 87, Minot, former-

ly of Douglas, died Friday,

September 16, 2022 in a

Minot assisted living

center.

Evernne was born De-

cember 3, 1934 to

Lawrence and Beatrice

(Spensley) Shaw in Mako-

ti, ND. She was raised and

educated in Makoti, at-

tending Wabek and Hid-

denwood schools and gra-

duated from Makoti High

School in 1952. Evernne

attended college in the

summer at Minot

Teacher’s College and

taught at Shealey Town-

ship School for a year.

She worked at

Montgomery Insurance

for one summer.

Evernne was united in

marriage to John Novod-

vorsky, Jr. on November

28, 1953 in Douglas, ND.

They made their home on

the Novodvorsky family

farmstead in Hilton

Township, where they

raised small grains and

cattle. She worked along-

side her husband in the

fields until retirement,

running the combine dur-

ing harvest and always

had a prepared meal for

family to enjoy.

Evernne was a member

of Calvary Chapel, rural

Sawyer, ND, First Assem-

bly of God (now Journey

Church), Minot and Cal-

vary Church in Ryder,

ND. She was involved in

many church groups, that

included Women’s Mis-

sion Council (WMC) and

teaching Sunday School.

Evernne served on school

and election boards, in

the 4-H Club and the Bil-

lings County Historical

Society. She enjoyed

quilting, canning, em-

broidery, traveling, read-

ing and collecting salt and

pepper shakers.

Evernne’s loving family

includes her loving hus-

band of 68 years, John, Jr.,

Evernne was preceded

in death by her precious

angel babies, parents,

brothers Harold, Russell,

Victor, Boyd, and Warren

and sisters Bonnie Hansen

and Nelda Fitzgerald.
