Jeremy Rhoads
April 15, 1977 – June 27, 2022
Jeremy Rhoads, 45, Minot, formerly of
Hettinger, ND, quietly
departed this life on June
27, 2022 in his home.
Jeremy “Jr” Rhoads, son
of Donald Dew Sr. & Bren-
da Stanford was born on
April 15, 1977, in Stanley,
ND. Shortly after his
birth, Richard Rhoads
adopted Jeremy. During
his mid-teens, while at
the Dakota Boys Ranch,
Jeremy reacquainted him-
self with his birth father
Donald Dew Sr. & his
wife, Terrie Dew. Through
a labor of love, Jeremy en-
sured positive ties on both
sides of his family with
his parents and siblings.
Jeremy attended middle
school at Jim Hill Middle
school and graduated high
school at Hettinger High
School. Jeremy credits his
high school graduation to
his mentor Carl Ebert,
who allowed him to stay
with him during this try-
ing time in his life. Carl
taught Jeremy many as-
pects of woodworking and
an appreciation of
strength and restraint.
Jeremy showed an early
aptitude for mechanics.
This aptitude brought him
to the oil fields at an early
age. His success was high-
ly reliant on his best
friend Kenny “Cooter”,
who taught him the ropes
of the job. His work ethic
and mechanical
knowledge, in combina-
tion with an unmatched
desire to extend his
knowledge to all aspects
of the mechanic’s field,
led him to specialize in
the maintenance and
operations of oil rigs
throughout North Dakota,
Colorado, and Wyoming.
Throughout his adult life,
Jeremy also maintained a
passion for automotive
maintenance, specifically
with his dream car the
1968 Chevy Camaro. He
spent his last years pass-
ing his knowledge to his
youngest daughter Heath-
er, ensuring self-sufficient
knowledge to maintain
her own vehicles while
instilling work ethic,
Jeremy’s unique sense of
humor, and his stellar
values. This humor and
values were even present
during his darkest times
in his wizened words;
“stealing jellybeans is an
act of war”!
Jeremy’s love for
mechanics was only
eclipsed by his adamant
love of, and support for
his 2nd amendment rights
and his collection of
many firearms. Jeremy
maintained an impressive
collection of both new
and classic firearms.
Jeremy maintained several
certifications by passing
several courses involving
his passion. Some of these
include The Human Ad-
vantage course, Cold
Weather School, Wilder-
ness Survival, Badlands
Basic Long-Range Preci-
sion (Sniper) Rifle Course,
Advanced Phase I Sniper
Rifle Course, Advance
Phase II Sniper Course,
and the Advanced Long
Range Precision Marks-
man training. Further, his
passion extended to his
son Brock, who attended
Apple Seed school in Ra-
pid, SD, and Dirt Time
School in San Barbara,
CA. Jeremy met his wife,
Renee Deuter while she
was living in Hettinger,
ND.
Shortly after, Renee
moved to Minot with her
children, they were mar-
ried and have lived here
since. Jeremy will be for-
ever loved by his family
whom he so positively in-
fluenced throughout his
life.
He is survived by his
loving wife Renee Rhoads,

of wisdom—“I have never

will fall dead, frozen from
a bough, without ever
having felt sorry itself”.
