Rosemarie Joyce Bennett

Feb. 2, 1931-April 13, 2022

Rosemarie Joyce Ben-

nett, 91, Minot, ND, form-

erly of Glenburn, passed

away Wednesday, April

13, 2022, at Trinity

Homes, Minot.

Rosemarie was born in

Minot, ND on February 2,

1931, to Victor and Rosel-

la (Lunder) Stromberg.

Rosemarie was raised in

the Grilley community

and attended Grilley Con-

solidated for 10 years. She

attended Minot Model her

junior year and graduated

from Glenburn High

School in 1949.

Rosemarie married Har-

ry Bennett on July 24,

1949 at St. Olaf Church in

Grilley Township,

McHenry County. They

made their home in Rug-

by and then in Minot. In

1957 they moved their

family to Glenburn. In

1961, the family moved

from Glenburn to the

Switzer Farm in Grilley

Township where they

raised their five children.

In 1978, the couple ful-

filled one of their lifetime

dreams of constructing

their own home in Glen-

burn. It was a labor of

love for the whole family.

It was at those doors

where they waited with

open arms for their 10

darling grandchildren.

Harry and Rosemarie

moved back to Minot in

2005. They celebrated 71

years of marriage prior to

Harry’s death in August

2020.

Rosemarie was a

member of St. Olaf Luth-

eran Church, Deering. It

was there that she was

baptized, confirmed, and

married. Early in their

marriage Harry and

Rosemarie were members

of Mt. Olivet Lutheran

Church in Minot. When

the family moved to Glen-

burn, they became

members of Trinity Luth-

eran Church. Rosemarie

was an active member,

serving on the church

council, teaching Sunday

School, altar guild, and

participating in women’s

circle. Rosemarie was in-

volved in various activi-

ties at Glenburn Public

School, most notably the

Music Boosters, where

she organized the pur-

chase of the school’s first

marching band uniforms.

Before she attended Minot

Business College and

worked for many years at

Sears as their Decorator

Consultant, Rosemarie

sold World Book Encyclo-

pedias door to door. For a

time, she opened a home

business called “Potpourri

by Rosemarie.” If you

stopped to shop, there

was always coffee and a

cookie to enjoy.

Rosemarie enjoyed

entertaining guests and

welcomed family and

friends into her home.

She was the ultimate

planner for family gather-

ings, holidays, lake time,

and trips. What mattered

most to her were family,

friends, church and com-

munity. She loved music,

books, theater, and travel.

Rosemarie was an amaz-

ing writer and filled pages

with poetry, thoughts, and

advice. Rosemarie also

published her own news-

paper called “Granny’s

Gazzette” to keep family

near and far up to date

with the latest Bennett

family news. Rosemarie

had her poetry published

in a magazine and began

writing a novel.

Rosemarie was steadfast

in her faith. She never

took for granted that she

was a child of God. She

prayed and had devotions

with Harry every night

and always prayed for

family. Together they left

a legacy of a strong and

loving family rooted in

deep faith.
