Gerald “Jerry” Page
Oct. 13, 1931-Mar. 20, 2022
Gerald (Jerry) Allen
Page, age 90, formerly of
Westhope, North Dakota,
passed away on Sunday,
March 20, 2022. Jerry was
born October 13, 1931, in
Westhope, ND.
He was the youngest of
four children born to
Edwin and Martha Black
Page. Jerry grew up in
Westhope where he was
an avid athlete in several
sports, graduating high
school in 1949. He gra-
duated from the Universi-
ty of North Dakota with a
Bachelor of Science in
1953. While at UND, Jerry
was initiated to the Alpha
Tau Omega (ATO) Delta
Nu fraternity. He was also
a member of the UND Air
Force ROTC Detachment
and served as an officer in
the Air Force. His time in
service included a deploy-
ment to Japan, an experi-
ence he often recalled.
Upon leaving the Air
Force, Jerry returned to
Westhope, ND where he
farmed for many years in
Canada and North Dakota
with his brother James
Page. Together with James
and brother Donald, they
owned and operated Page
Motors – selling Ford au-
tomobiles and John Deere
equipment.
Jerry married Sharron
Ione (Luebke) Page on De-
cember 27, 1959, at the
Hamerly Lutheran Church
near Sherwood, ND. They
lived in Westhope, ND
where he was actively in-
volved in the community,
was a member of the Pres-
byterian Church, and
served as mayor for many
years.
Jerry and Sharron wel-
comed the birth of their
daughter, Alison, on Oc-
tober 17, 1971. In 1985,
they began to spend their
winters in Scottsdale, AZ,
returning each summer to
beautiful Lake Metigoshe,
ND.
After his beloved wife
Sharron died Oct 13,
2020, Jerry moved to Port-
land, OR to be closer to
his daughter and
son-in-law. He had a pas-
sion for flying, co-owning
a Cessna with a dear
friend as a young man.
Tales of his flying adven-
tures brought a smile to
his face and twinkle in his
eye. So, it is appropriate a
final weekend in OR in-
cluded a helicopter tour
over the scenic Wil-
lamette Valley wine re-
gion.
Jerry is preceded in
death by his wife Sharron,
his parents Edwin and
Martha Page, his sister
Marge (Jim) Welton,
brothers Don (Joyce) Page,
and James (Ruth) Page. He
is survived by his
daughter, Alison Page,
and son-in-law, Jon From-
melt of Amity, OR, and
several nieces and
nephews.
In accordance with
Jerry’s wishes, the family
will not be organizing a
memorial service. In lieu
of flowers, should you
wish to honor his
memory, donations would
be welcome to the
Westhope Presbyterian
Church, Westhope
Cemetery, or a charity of
the donor’s choice.
My father will be
missed terribly, but at last
reunited with his cher-
ished wife of 60 years. As
you sang to her at her
passing, I say to you
“We’ll meet again, don’t
know where, don’t know
when, but I know we’ll
meet again some sunny
day.”
