Paul Hyndman

Paul Jon Hyndman, 78,

West Fargo, ND passed

away on Friday, October

8, 2021 at Sanford Hospi-

tal, Fargo, ND surrounded

by his family.

Born in 1943 in Cando,

N.D. to John and Juanita

(Gerrard) Hyndman, he

spent part of his child-

hood in Perth, N.D. and

then in 1948 moved to

Rolla, N.D. He graduated

from Rolla High School in

1961. From there he went

to U.N.D. to attend col-

lege, where he played

football as a walk-on. He

was on the 1964 Hall of

Fame team.

In 1966 he enlisted in

the U. S. Army where he

served his country in

Vietnam and was very

proud of his service. He

worked for local vets and

their families to make

sure they received their

benefits. He received the

National Defense Medal,

Vietnam Service Medal,

R.V.N. Campaign Medal

with 60 device, Army

Communication Medal,

Army Commendation

Medal with 1st oak leaf

cluster.

In 1972, he returned to

U.N.D. to receive his de-

gree in business. At this

time, he met his wife of

48 years Dianne Hogen-

son. They were married

in 1973 in Cando. They

were the proud parents of

three children.

He worked in manufac-

turing and took the postal

exam in 1982 then fin-

ished his career in Ken-

mare, N.D. as postmaster.

Paul and Dianne loved

their U.N.D. sports, trav-

eled some, and retired to

West Fargo in 2012.

Paul was very proud of

his grandchildren and

their sports and academic

accomplishments.

He is survived by his

wife, Dianne; daughters,

Shawna Scheffler of St.

Clair, Michigan, Joline

(Ryan) Sinner, Casselton,

N.D.; son, Michael of

Minot, N.D.; 4 grandchil-

dren, Kaia Scheffler, Nick

Martin, Reed Sinner, and

Casey Sinner; cousins,

Bruce (Sandy) Gerrard

and Andrew Gerrard.

He was preceded in

death by his parents, John

and Juanita; brother Jack;

and numerous aunts, un-

cles, and cousins.
