Charlotte J. Schmit
Miller, 93, Minot, ND,
passed away peacefully,
Saturday, December 7,
2019, in a Minot hospital
with her family by her
side.
Charlotte Josephine
Szczur was born July 31,
1926, a daughter of
George and Anna (Kar-
barska) Szczur in Noonan,
ND. She was raised on a
farm and educated in the
Noonan area, where she
attended country schools.
In 1944, Charlotte gra-
duated from Crosby High
School. Following her gra-
duation, Charlotte joined
the Nurses Cadet Corps at
St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Minot, and then graduat-
ed from St. Francis School
of Nursing. She began
working as a Registered
Nurse in the maternity
ward at St. Josephs Hospi-
tal in 1947.
Charlotte was united in
marriage to Robert L.
Schmit on November 27,
1948 in Minot, ND. They
made their home in
Minot, where together
they raised their seven
children. Charlotte con-
tinued to work as an RN
until 1962. Once she re-
tired from nursing, she
cared for numerous area
families as daycare pro-
vider, foster mother and
long term care giver for
infants, special needs
children and Alzheimer’s
patients.Robert passed
away September 29, 1991.
Charlotte remained in
Minot, where she contin-
ued to assist families. On
November 2, 1996, Char-
lotte was married to
Charles E. Miller. He
passed away on June 10,
2016.
Charlotte was a faithful
and proud member of St.
Leo the Great Catholic
Church, Minot.

ty.
